SOLO WORKS
While most scores and parts are available to purchase via Sheet Music Plus, some solo music is available through other publishers. Some recordings are available via Soundcloud.

Banana Republic Rag - solo piano
“Banana Republic Rag comically explores former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating’s infamous reference to the Australian economy as being a ‘banana republic’. Using arch form, the piece explores how the Australian Dollar was a financial powerhouse in the 1960s before dropping in value for the decades that followed, and its resurgence in the wake of the global financial crisis in the late 2000s before finally reaching parity (and beyond) with the U.S. Dollar in October 2010. This piece features retrograde, tempo and theme variation to represent these concepts.
Sheet music is available via CutCommon Digital Music Shop.

The Cheshire Cat - solo clarinet (unaccompanied)
This started off as an in-class task for composition class, but developed into a showcase of the clarinet's range and capabilities. Originally composed as a "choose-your-own adventure", with an introduction and then performer's choice of order of sections (labelled A,B,C).

Ghost in the Xerox Machine - multi percussion solo
"Written out of frustration with a photocopier that seemed to have a mind of its own. This solo features untuned percussion (wind chimes, bass drum, snare drum, tri-toms and hi-hats), as well as two wine glasses to represent the titular ghostly presence ."

Haunted House - solo piano
A novelty piano piece for Halloween. It is a musical exposition on the sub-genre of the horror pop-fiction genre, which usually involves a haunted house and a group of children/teens/uni students who have heard many urban myths about this haunted house, and decide one night to explore the estate to find out if these myths are true. The piece is in ternary form, which is used to create a three-part haunted house story.
Sheet music is available via CutCommon Digital Music Shop.

Little Sparks - solo saxophone (soprano or tenor) & piano [coming soon]
This piece was written in memory of a university classmate Iskra Skoklevska, who passed away in 2009. The title of this piece was derived from a translation of the name "Iskra", which is Russian for "spark". Adapted from the original viola solo.

Minutes to Midnight - solo violin (unaccompanied)
This piece was inspired by the metaphorical Doomsday clock, which was at 6 minutes to Midnight when I wrote this back in 2010. As of 2017, it now stands at 2.5 minutes. The piece was written the anxiety associated with this concept, gradually building in tempo and intensity, until finally reaching midnight and absolute nothingness.

Noot Noot - flute (or piccolo) & piano
[coming soon]
"Noot Noot serves as a playful musical homage to the claymation character Pingu and his iconic, viral meme catchphrase."
